What is the program about?
The Working Student Program at Boulder Pointe is designed to provide a fun and educational opportunity for our students to learn more about horsemanship. We feel it is important to teach students about the importance of commitment and responsibility, in a simulation of a real-life work experience. For adult students, it is a place to come and enjoy the company of other horse enthusiasts and feel like a kid again, while contributing to our community.
This is a supplemental educational opportunity available to students already taking lessons. Students sign up for work opportunities and gain valuable experience in the equine industry, on and off the horse. Working Students learn important skills such as: working on a team and independently, responsibility, time management, work ethic, problem solving, patience, leadership and self-confidence. A Working Student's efforts are graded and there is an opportunity to earn rewards.
Many Working Students are working for references to obtain a job in the equine industry or other fields in the future, or services, and to learn all aspects of horse management. Working Students will work alongside a staff of proven equine professionals to fine-tune and expand on their riding, training and horsemanship skills. Boulder Pointe management and various equine professionals associated with the operation of Boulder Pointe are happy to provide references for Working Students who have successfully demonstrated their proficiency in our program.
