What is the program about? The Advanced Equestrian Student Program at Boulder Pointe is designed to provide a fun and educational opportunity for advanced students to learn more about horsemanship. We feel it is important to teach students about the importance of commitment and responsibility, as well as teach real life horsemanship skills. For adult students, it is a place to come and enjoy the company of other horse enthusiasts and feel like a kid again, while contributing to our community.
This is a supplemental educational opportunity available only to students already taking lessons who are recommended for the program by their instructor or Boulder Pointe staff. Students sign up for opportunities (called “Classes”) and gain valuable experience in the equine industry, on and off the horse. Students in the program learn important skills such as: working on a team and independently, responsibility, time management, work ethic, problem solving, patience, leadership and self-confidence.
Students in the program will learn alongside our staff of proven equine professionals to fine-tune and expand on their riding, training and horsemanship skills. The student will be provided feedback on their efforts during each Class and via a report card at the end of each semester. A successful Advanced Equestrian Student will gain transferable skills that can be used for future equestrian employment opportunities. Boulder Pointe is able to provide references for Advanced Equestrian Students who have successfully demonstrated their proficiency in our program. The Advanced Equestrian Student program is an extension of Boulder Pointe’s educational and lesson curriculum and is not a paid work or internship program.
